In August 2023, the average ferro-chromium import price amounted to $2,985 per ton, reducing by -30.5% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a abrupt curtailment. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $6,232 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Poland ($3,838 per ton) and Germany ($3,834 per ton), while the price for Slovenia ($2,927 per ton) and Malta ($3,834 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+10.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
