The countries with the highest volumes of production in 2022 were China (5.2M units), the UK (2.9M units) and India (2.4M units), with a combined 36% share of global production. Taiwan (Chinese), Japan, the United States, Indonesia, Russia, Brazil, Pakistan, the Philippines, Slovakia and Denmark lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 36%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +45.0%), while production for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, purchases abroad of games operated by coins, banknotes or discs increased by 88% to 49M units, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, imports enjoyed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 96%. Global imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, coin game imports surged to $3.3B in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild reduction. Over the period under review, global imports hit record highs at $4.8B in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports By Country
The United States dominates imports structure, reaching 33M units, which was near 67% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by the UK (3.2M units), constituting a 6.4% share of total imports. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 53% against the previous year. The global exports peaked at 9.8M units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, coin game exports skyrocketed to $3.5B in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a slight reduction. Over the period under review, the global exports reached the peak figure at $4.4B in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The UK (1.6M units) and China (1.3M units) represented roughly 31% of total exports in 2022. Mexico (634K units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 7% share, followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (5.6%). In value terms, China ($743M), the United States ($671M) and Mexico ($223M) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 47% of global exports. Taiwan (Chinese), Spain, the UK, Poland, Italy, the Philippines, Denmark, Sweden, Greece and India lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.
Among the main exporting countries, Sweden, with a CAGR of +25.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices By Country
The average coin game export price stood at $383 per unit in 2022, growing by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 21% against the previous year.
