Coffee Extract Price in Slovenia (CIF) - 2023
The average coffee extract import price stood at $5,685 per ton in September 2023, falling by -9.8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 19% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $6,693 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Serbia ($10,243 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($2,317 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Serbia (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coffee Extract Price in Slovenia (FOB) - 2023
The average coffee extract export price stood at $8,573 per ton in September 2023, picking up by 9.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, export price indicated a modest increase from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, coffee extract export price increased by +29.1% against July 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 105% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $9,305 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($30,285 per ton), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($6,288 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coffee Extract Imports in Slovenia
For the fourth consecutive year, Slovenia recorded growth in supplies from abroad of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates, which increased by 5.6% to 2.8K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +11.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, coffee extract imports amounted to $16M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 16%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Coffee Extract Exports in Slovenia
In 2022, overseas shipments of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates were finally on the rise to reach 479 tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a abrupt downturn.
In value terms, coffee extract exports skyrocketed to $4M in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.2% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +56.5% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
