Chocolate Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2021
In December 2021, the average chocolate import price amounted to $5,749 per ton, reducing by -4.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2021 an increase of 9.9% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $6,047 per ton in November 2021, and then dropped slightly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($6,442 per ton), while the price for Singapore ($3,960 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+1.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chocolate Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2021
The average chocolate export price stood at $5,486 per ton in December 2021, with a decrease of -4.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2021 when the average export price increased by 17% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $5,837 per ton. From February 2021 to December 2021, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In December 2021, the highest price was recorded for prices to the United States ($6,204 per ton) and Australia ($6,150 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($4,753 per ton) and China ($4,904 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chocolate Imports in Vietnam
Chocolate imports into Vietnam contracted to 6.9K tons in 2022, waning by -9.9% against 2021 figures. In general, imports continue to indicate a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 27% against the previous year.
In value terms, chocolate imports reduced to $38M in 2022. Overall, imports showed a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 36%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $43M, and then shrank in the following year.

Chocolate Exports in Vietnam
