In 2022, the average broken rice import price amounted to $443 per ton, surging by 7.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a slight shrinkage. The import price peaked at $544 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($794 per ton), while the price for Guyana ($130 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Colombia (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
