Beef Price in Angola (CIF) - 2022
The average beef import price stood at $4,457 per ton in 2022, waning by -2.2% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 14% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $4,559 per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($8,507 per ton), while the price for Nicaragua ($2,404 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Lebanon (+8.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Beef Price in Angola (FOB) - 2022
The average beef export price stood at $4,553 per ton in 2022, surging by 34% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, beef export price decreased by -6.9% against 2020 indices. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,893 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($6,440 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo ($1,898 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+21.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Beef Imports in Angola
In 2022, supplies from abroad of beef (cattle meat) increased by 1.6% to 6.7K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a sharp shrinkage.
In value terms, beef imports reduced modestly to $30M in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 1.3% against the previous year.
