Amino-Resin Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average amino-resin export price amounted to $2,721 per ton, dropping by -3.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 7.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,306 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($6,049 per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($1,597 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Amino-Resin Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average amino-resin import price stood at $1,796 per ton in July 2023, surging by 8.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 9.5% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $1,909 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($5,027 per ton), while the price for Poland ($604 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Amino-Resin Exports in Germany
In 2022, approx. 1.2M tons of amino-resins, phenolic resins and polyurethanes (in primary forms) were exported from Germany; which is down by -10.9% against the year before. In general, exports recorded a slight decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 9.7% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 1.4M tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, amino-resin exports expanded to $3.8B in 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.4% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +47.0% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
